hollerme 7 Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Hi, I upgraded my broadband and since then have been unable to detect the synology so can't use Emby. I tried going to quickconnect as well as find.synology.com but that hasn't helped. Can anyone advise what I should be doing?
FrostByte 5392 Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Did you have static IP addresses assigned?
FrostByte 5392 Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 If your IP addresses changed afterward, it's possible that the NAS is still grabbing the last assigned IP address until they expire. I've seen this happen to people a lot after changing hardware and all their IP addresses change. Check this link out. You may need to reset by sticking a pen or something in the hole in the back and then using Mode 1, or reboot your NAS after the IPs expire. https://kb.synology.com/en-id/DSM/tutorial/How_to_reset_my_Synology_NAS_7 Check the notes to see what this all does and if you want to try that.
hollerme 7 Posted August 8, 2024 Author Posted August 8, 2024 I tried resetting it (using a paper clip on the button till it beeped) but find.synology.com still doesn't detect it.
Luke 42077 Posted August 8, 2024 Posted August 8, 2024 HI, are you able to use your Emby Server without using Quick Connect?
hollerme 7 Posted August 9, 2024 Author Posted August 9, 2024 I am not - I've tried it on my phone, laptop, and TV (the latter I use most) but can't access.
hollerme 7 Posted August 10, 2024 Author Posted August 10, 2024 Hi, I'm still unable to access Emby or Synology. Are there any other suggestions available?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 I doubt is as this goes beyond Emby if you cannot get to a device on your LAN. Does your new router have a device list to see what devices currently connected?
Neminem 1518 Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 Try with angry ip scanner, and see if you can finde your Syno. Angry IP Scanner - the original IP scanner for Windows, Mac and Linux
hollerme 7 Posted August 13, 2024 Author Posted August 13, 2024 Thanks, I found out it's in relation to my booster - when I unplugged the synology and connected it directly to the router it worked! For some reason my booster however can't seem to connect to the internet (even when I plugged it directly to the router via an ethernet cable) so will need to figure out how to fix that. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone, it really is appreciated. 1 1
