Happy2Play 9780 Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 Yes a specific example would be needed but you can look at the Restart Plugin or script an api call to restart.
sfraga2003 6 Posted August 7, 2024 Author Posted August 7, 2024 I need restart server to clean files in C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\transcoding-temp

bryan_remote 7 Posted September 9, 2025 Posted September 9, 2025 (edited) Please forgive me here... but I have a practice of restarting my emby server at least once a day in the am. today. I sat down to resume a show and it stopped playing midstream. I immediately restart emby and it plays with no issues. I have my server log attached. Does anyone see issues for a place for me to start troubleshooting? Restarting also seems to help my IPTV as well. I am not a newbie but not an expert either... embyserver-63892993018-webver.txt Edited September 9, 2025 by bryan_remote
pwhodges 2012 Posted September 9, 2025 Posted September 9, 2025 Is your playback transcoding? How much disc space is available for transcode buffers? Paul
JoLas 26 Posted September 10, 2025 Posted September 10, 2025 I empty the transcoding-temp and the cache/subtitles on a weekly basis (maintenance window where a sheduled task in windows runs a maintenance.cmd) I run Emby as a service so it's just a matter of stopping the service from the script. Most of the time the transcoding-temp is empty or only contains a few empty folders but then all of a sudden there's a bunch in it. Sometimes users are having trouble enabling subtitles for movies/episodes they have already watched. Removing the subtitle cache works all the time for me so it's scheduled. I don't allow users to download subtitles, I'm quite picky so I provide them with correct subs for everything.
