markie 2 Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 my root (win 10) drive just flaked out (needed a brand new HD, and couldn't read anything on drive, so I need to re-do my libraries. I figured I should copy / link the config files to my emby drive, Question: Has anyone out there on a win10 system done any symbolic/soft/hard/Junction links in EMBY, across file-systems? and if so did you make the original, or the emby directories the Source filesystem?
Luke 42079 Posted August 7, 2024 Posted August 7, 2024 Hi, are you saying you want to hard link your media files or the emby server data files?
markie 2 Posted August 7, 2024 Author Posted August 7, 2024 I was hoping to link my media files. However, I wouldn't mind linking EVERYTHING to different drives I just lost my c:\ drive, and my media drive (m:) was fine. hoping I can avoid this again in the future. I have different drives for my media and my other stuff. and the end goal is to be able to use the online cloud (onedrive) to eventually save/backup my data. (and for the config files, I suppose it would make more sense to use the default data locations on C:\ as the source, and the data drive would be the destination, and I believe that a junction link (for directory) would be best. I would expect this to be a seldom used directory for the junction link. Thanks again for all of the work you do in this forum!
