vdrover 62 Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 After scheduling a live TV recording, I noticed a lot of requests like `emby.tmsimg.com/tvbanners/generic/generic_tvbanners_v7.png` and `emby.tmsimg.com/assets/p14346291_b_v8_aa.jpg`. Firstly, why is this necessary when scheduling a recording? Neither of these assets is related to the recording in any way that I can tell. Secondly, if these are required, why not include an icon pack or something to reduce external calls and bandwidth for generic assets like a `tvbanners`? embyserver (5).txt
Luke 42078 Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Hi, that is the image that Gracenote gives us for a particular channel or program. If it has a generic appearance there is no way for the server to know that.
vdrover 62 Posted August 5, 2024 Author Posted August 5, 2024 It’s interesting. If you look at the logs, you see the “BBC London News” image is provided. Why would a generic one get sent if a specific one is available?

vdrover 62 Posted August 13, 2024 Author Posted August 13, 2024 I thought there might be interest in reducing calls and such. All good. 1
