Characters displayed as "?"

characters like ö, ä. å are not displayed correctly in emby, even though they are named correctly on the server. Instead of the character I get a ? in place.

 

Am I doing something wrong?

Sure, here you go Luke.

I have two Servers running Emby and it is happening on both of them. Oddly, the Artist name is shown correctly at the top of the page in this instance, but not in the track listing.

 

Edit: Just for info, the songs are 100% tagged correctly using Musicbrainz, which I do directly after ripping a CD to my Server. Both Servers are also using different storage.

Hi, we use ffprobe to read the embedded tags. They need to be encoded in utf-8. Can you check on this within your files?

Thanks for getting back, the standard encoding options of Musicbrainz are in utf-8. I will attach another screenshot.

Ok, after some digging I have found some potential issues not related to Emby. Turns out the locale and mount settings for the network storage is messing with the characters on the server side. You can consider this issue closed for the time being.

Edit: I can not find any issue on the server locale side... The Characters can be displayed correctly.
