Emby says "Failed to connect to server" but then loads.

Often after 15-20s(Sometimes more). Using A NVIDIA Shield Pro.  After it loads it's...fine, but it's caused some people to think the server was down. It's kind of obnoxious. Any idea? Using the latest Emby 4.9.0.28.

 

IT says "Failed to connect to server", then a second later, boom, it loads.

HI there, what version of the Emby app do you have on the Shield?

Android TV Version of course, latest beta as well. This has been an on-going issue for months now, but it never really bothered me until other people told me the server was down and it wasn't.

Hi.  Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares?

I've used the normal Android version before and it's awful compared to the TV Version. It's what you've recommended me almost every time over the years. There's separate versions for a reason, no?

 

And yes, I tried clearing cache.

Hi.  Make sure your server dashboard is showing the proper addresses for access on both LAN and WAN.

Then, you can also try signing out and back in again.

Hi, no, we are working on unifying them into the standard app. What issue do you have with it?

The Android app is so much laggier on my NVIDIA Shield.  Like almost a full 1s delay from press to move, VS the Android TV one is instant.
