SLMK 19 Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 Hi, has something changed to disable keyboard input in the search field in theatre when using the TV layout? I've checked on two machines, both now only allow search input by selecting the onscreen letters, input via the keyboard is ignored. Desktop layout still works. 1
abuthemagician 5 Posted August 6, 2024 Posted August 6, 2024 (edited) I also have this problem. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't type using search, but now I know it's because it auto selected TV mode, which I prefer. Edited August 6, 2024 by abuthemagician
qwop99 0 Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 (edited) Same issue here, used to be able to use keyboard input while in TV display mode, now it's restricted to the on screen buttons. Any updates on this? @Luke COuld this have been do to a recent update, and do updates to this app get pushed out more frequently than the github releases somehow? I see the 3.0.20 was deployed May 2023 and just trying to rule out there being some sort of update I downloaded for Emby Theater. Or could there be a plugin update that could have effected this? nfg177 0 Posted August 11, 2024 Posted August 11, 2024 Having the same issue when using search function on Emby Theater for windows. The search wont recognize my keyboard inputs. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and 2 different machines.
bruckect 0 Posted September 1, 2024 Posted September 1, 2024 (edited) Also seeing this issue for the last couple of months. Running the Emby Theater 3.0.20 app (not from Windows Store) on Windows 11 23H2. I am able to work around this by going to Settings -> Display -> Display Mode and change it from either Auto or TV to Desktop. I didn’t realize there was a difference between Desktop and TV mode until now, but kind of like the layout of TV mode. Do you need logs or any additional info to assist in resolving this issue? Edited September 1, 2024 by bruckect Added workaround

HI, we know what the issue is. We are working on it. Thanks. 2
SLMK 19 Posted January 21, 2025 Author Posted January 21, 2025 Hi, this behaviour is still present in the new app, is fixing this planned? BTW, the new app, a few bugs aside, is a vast improvement IMO. 1
Solution softworkz 5066 Posted January 26, 2025 Solution Posted January 26, 2025 We have a built-in on-screen-keyboard for the WMC UI (https://wmc.emby.media/) and hope to bring it to the Windows app soon.

Will this let me type with a physical keyboard as well or do I have to use the pointer to select keys on the OSK
softworkz 5066 Posted January 27, 2025 Posted January 27, 2025 Yes. Just try it: http://wmc.emby.media/app/
