Emby not generating thumbnails for new recorded content

Hey there, been using emby for a month, all library setting set acording to recomendation found here, server up to date. Every thing is working, even the skip button, except for the tumbnail preview. Extraction do work, logs confirm that, but there is no image, at all, for any thumbnail, across my films and tv show library. Try multiple thing, event a whole re-install of the server, still the same. I have even paid for a lifetime emby premium.

Any fix on the way?

Hi there @jean3 can you please provide a specific example? Thanks!

Hello, well in every movies and tv shows the chapters thumbnails stay blank. It's a not link to a specific file. When I click the chapter button in the player, chapters with timestamp appear but none have images, they are all blank.

Please let me know if you need other infos to maybe lead me toward a solution.

Do they appear when you are on the itemdetails for any given item as the UI and Player chapters are linked.  But the player will always show placeholders whether the feature is enabled or not.

Also what is your library setting as this is a per library setting also.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by item details, as for when I go into the server settings, I can acess libraries configurations options, but not the individual item per say.

Would you mind explaining it to me a bite more, I'me very new at all that?

thank you!

Any media page

If Chapter/Interval images are present on itemdetails they will be present in player Chapters.  If not present on itemdetails they will be blank placeholder in player Chapters.

Ok got it. Well, the Save video preview thumbnails into media folders box is and was ticked. Erm, but I do not have the chapter section underneat in item details, only 'More from Season X...'. Where can I enable it, please?

If the option is enabled and a library scan or running the task does not create them (depending on option enabled on library) then will need to see server log for that process.

ffmpeg-transcode logs will have nothing to do with image extraction.

Should see "Info QuickImageSeriesExtractor" in server log along with "quick-extract-imageseries" logs in log folder

Yes Emby is choking on your smb paths.  All I can do is reference other topics as dev will recommend mounting path to create libraries.

As the other to topics with this specific error are Synology and Docker.
