Video file thumbnail

How can I select a thumbnail from a video file? I'd like the title page to be the thumbnail however emby bypasses that and goes into the file a bit. This is for home movies.

The image from the file that shows up just above the file title.

Have you tried using the image editor to change it to whatever image file you want?

I do not have a separate jpg for a thumbnail. Emby reads in part of the video file and displays it as a thumbnail that you select to play. That's the problem I am facing.

With my video editor I can take a screenshot and maneuver it over to use as the thumbnail.

OK we don’t currently have a feature for that, although that is a neat idea. That would be a lot of manual work though for a large library.

For regular movies the default Emby thumbnails are usually perfect. Just for home movies this will be used.
