waldo1985 1 Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 replace the 4k image, TV Series images ect. but it does not replace every image. I wish cover art did this nativity. I made the script to copy the files every time Emby starts up because it resets every time there is a update. Any solutions ?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 Sorry no, since you are customizing default resources you need to ensure those resources exist on every plugin update in addition to monthly cache cleanup as your updates will expire regenerating new ones do to creation date. Ideally, we need a feature request for CA to have custom treatments folder just like custom indicator overlays.
waldo1985 1 Posted July 26, 2024 Author Posted July 26, 2024 yea it doesn't have to be fancy sice anyone can edit the images you know with a image editor. can you make the request or you want me to Im fine with ether.

I mentioned it here in a FR but in the end dev will have to comment. @ebr Looks like this may need revisited.
ebr 16169 Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 As I mentioned in those requests, the custom treatments are just too hard to make work well and almost no one ever used them when we did have them so it just isn't worth it. Sorry.
waldo1985 1 Posted July 26, 2024 Author Posted July 26, 2024 understandable but it just replaces images ? or am not understanding? dont needs anything fancy lol. just wonding
Happy2Play 9780 Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 I would see them used just as much as custom overlays. But personally, don't use overlays and only manipulate treatments. Just need a folder to honor and maintain customization. 1

To me is should be just a matter of a configurable path just like overlays but I guess there must be more to it than that.

Overlays are simple images that are displayed on top of something. The treatment frames are very specific formats of images with very specific areas within them that have to be fully known by the program.
waldo1985 1 Posted July 27, 2024 Author Posted July 27, 2024 Thing is the script i made works perfectly accept maybe when a plugin updates.(found out it take a little time for Emby to replace all the images.) So we can make a guide on how to make the images like I did it, was very easy. Just need to have a way to replace those images, as simple as use this directory instead. But if you dont want to do that all good. Then is there a way to run a script on plugin update? @ebr

We can already edit the resource provided so I still don't really follow. We just need a way to maintain them just like custom overlays.

However, plug-ins only update on a server restart so doing something after the new version is downloaded wouldn't work as it would get overwritten on the restart when the plugin is really replaced.
Solution waldo1985 1 Posted July 28, 2024 Author Solution Posted July 28, 2024 Made a script that runs on Emby server start and when cover art updates by watching cache folder that cover art uses with a library I found. Also the images, since its a docker-compose instance that runs with 1000:1000 permissions and the cache image are now owned by root not the Emby server because of the script. so no mater what thy wont change I dont think. @Happy2Play cover-art-image-replacer.zip
