grizlyadams 19 Posted September 4, 2016 Posted September 4, 2016 Hi, i'm trying to change the default location of the IBN folder by changing the path name in dashboard-library-advanced. i can browse to the path but when i click save i just get the spinning red/yellow/green/blue circle and it never saves. any ideas?
Luke 42077 Posted September 4, 2016 Author Posted September 4, 2016 Hi, it seems to be fine in my testing here. What browser are you running and what is your emby server version?

Upgrade from 5986 to 6040 was the usual mess /failure/manual upload pbi/serveral hours rescan library again - so something's bust with my setup - I'm guessing that's what causing the path update failure too. Luke 42077 Posted September 4, 2016 Author Posted September 4, 2016 Hi, I apologize although I cannot reproduce the problem. If the issue persists, please provide an emby server log: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ Thanks.

Hey Luke, no need to apologise, not your fault; bound to be some misstep on my part due to lack of experience/frustration. Logs attached cover the period of trying to change the IBN path and upgrading the PBI .cheers Griz
keyboard99 0 Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 (edited) argh had a mare tonight, messed my emby install. So had to swap a disc out. So I reinstalled emby. My jails were the same as the media server drive wasn't touched. I add folders to where the files are but nothing is appearing, I am thinking is path substitution thats the issue here, I had trouble with this the first time I installed ages ago, so I have forgotten. path to the server /mnt/nasmediaserver on the windows share is z:\freenas I cannot select this as the folder in the library section Jail storage source - /mnt/nasmediaserver/Movies destination - /media/Movies When I goto metadata is shows the path is "/var/db/emby-server/root/default/Movies" which doesn't look right So what do I need to put in here? Add Substitution From:Example: D:\Movies (on the server) To:Example: \\MyServer\Movies (a path clients can access) Edited September 16, 2016 by keyboard99

What program needs the substitution? I know Kodi knows what to do with paths like "cifs://" but I'm not sure about other programs. I assume your samba share name is Movies? In that case I believe your path substitution should be From: /media/Movies To: cifs://freenas/Movies or possibly.. To: \\freenas\Movies

First, I have Emby plugin in FreeNAS and all media stored in FreeNAS, and i do not have any path subs in Emby defined. I direct stream all the time so don't think this is an issue for me. Second, here is what i see in my metadata so something definitely off with your setup. /media/Movies/The 5th Wave (2016)/The 5th Wave (2016).mkv Here is how the Emby Jail storage is setup (Prime is my primary dataset): Source: /mnt/Prime/media Destination: /media

tgessendorfer 7 Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 (edited) I tried and played a bit more and can just confirm no Live TV channel does provide audio so seems something goes wrong during encoding. Having said this issue is just on my MacBook Pro running El Captain 10.11.6 and worked for my previous FreeNAS Emby versions very well and still does work on my Chromebook. Having said this issue is just on my MacBook Pro running El Captain 10.11.6 and worked for my previous FreeNAS Emby versions very well and still does work on my Chromebook. I have also have a mac osx for testing that is also on El Captain and I don't see this issue. Audio with live tv is working as expected. We have been working heavily on live tv for the next server release so I would suggest trying again with the next release, thanks.
tgessendorfer 7 Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Jesus.... I have found the issue and I am so sorry... I connected my MacBook today to my docking station with external speaker and audio worked! So disconnected from Docking Station and audio was gone... Checked my MacBooks sound preferences and the output audio was set to "Air Parrot" which I rarely use for streaming... Obviously the App has changed the default settings and after setting back to "internal speakers" it works! Sorry again... Good thing now is that I rechecked all Live TV settings and enabled Picon support and works like a charm!
Luke 42077 Posted September 30, 2016 Author Posted September 30, 2016 No problem, thanks for reporting back !
Robp2175 1 Posted October 12, 2016 Posted October 12, 2016 Hello, I updated my FreeNAS plugin to 3.0.7200 last night and now Emby is having multiple problems. First of all it shows that I have not watched MANY shows. For example, Ray Donovan is now showing I have not watched all of the first three seasons (12 episodes each). However, the fact is I have deleted the first three seasons from the server to make space (some time ago). Why is Emby not removing these seasons from the library now? Also, Emby is showing that I have a new episode of The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 1. This episode does not exist on my server. This episode has not even aired yet. Therefore, when I click on it, obviously it does not give me the option to play it. Please advise me how to proceed. Thank you for the awesome plugin by the way, usually it works flawlessly and I appreciate all your efforts.
Luke 42077 Posted October 12, 2016 Author Posted October 12, 2016 Hi, sorry to hear about this. How long had it been since you updated?
Robp2175 1 Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 It has been about 4-5 months since I updated.

Eddie 12 Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Stop jail.... click update.... wait 20 to 30 minutes and it should be done.... if it doesnt work maybe make sure you have latest version of freenas... if it still doesnt work there is a manual way of doing it
