yocker 1249 Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 (edited) As title says plus transcoding is still happening. I can see activity on my GPU and in the transcoding log, this is happening even though the user has stopped watching. Edit: It fixed it self, guess Emby just has a long time detecting stopped players and/or i'm really impatient. Edited July 25, 2024 by yocker

But yes there is some detection the server does for session but does not always work. Personally, can say I have seen more Android sessions then Roku sessions abandoned on my server. But there are several topics and require specific examples with server log.
Chiefmas 40 Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 I've had this problem, or something like/related to it for years, on various clients, though Roku seems to be showing up a lot lately. Then again, most of the clients connecting to my server are Roku's these days: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/114565-disconnected-sessionsremove-from-server-side/ Quote I can see activity on my GPU and in the transcoding log, this is happening even though the user has stopped watching. check your User Sessions next time you see it. In my case, I've noticed that it has a transcode session(for those sessions that are transcoding) but it's not actually doing any work. Or if it is, I think it's doing the same block, where ever playback was at on the client side when it disconnected, over and over again. But it's so miniscule it doesn't look like it's doing anything in the User Sessions.
Luke 42079 Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 HI, we'll take a look at it. Thanks for reporting.
jameskitt616 9 Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 > User stopped watching but dashboard still showing user playing. i am having this phenomenon for weeks/months. Users who have stopped watching for hours are still shown as 'watching' on the dashboard. It's not related to any end device really, it happens with pretty much any client i could observe/remember so far. The only """fix""" for this i could find is restarting Emby to "kick/wipe" all users Sessions.
