Artimus 1 Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 I am trying out some of the free iptv content to see how it works before considering a paid subscription somewhere. I am testing these two M3U feeds in particular. IPTV-Org Playlist, English Speaking Channels: https://iptv-org.github.io/iptv/languages/eng.m3u LocalNow, https://www.apsattv.com/localnow.m3u I pulled the 2,300+ channels in, and tested a few from both feeds. That much works. But I dont want 2300 channels. There is an option to only import channels matching particular groups, but that isn't really helpful. Here the groups from the LocalNow list. I dont want to exclude entire groups, but l do want to exclude most of the content from each groups. For example, I want to see all the New York and Massachusetts content across all the LocalNow groups. But I dont want to see channels for Kentucky, or Texas. The only option i can see is to pull up the list of 2300+ channels in the UI and uncheck each one i dont want. Is there a better way to do this. Maybe a white/black list of regex expressions? Even if the channels were all unchecked by default would be a major improvement for importing channels. On the front-end side, the user doesn't really have a good way to filter either. Basically just by genre of tag (where each is tagged with the group name). LocalNow: Action LocalNow: Comedy LocalNow: Drama LocalNow: En Espanol LocalNow: Entertainment LocalNow: Explore LocalNow: Family And Faith LocalNow: Gaming And More LocalNow: Horror And SciFi LocalNow: Lifestyle LocalNow: Local LocalNow: More Cities LocalNow: Movies And TV LocalNow: Music And Arts LocalNow: News And Opinion LocalNow: Reality LocalNow: Recommended LocalNow: Relaxation LocalNow: Sports LocalNow: World Interest
Luke 42079 Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Hi, looks like you'll have to use the channel management tool to exclude the channels that you don't want.
Artimus 1 Posted July 27, 2024 Author Posted July 27, 2024 sorry i must be missing something. I'm not sure how im going to work through all those. but as im still seeing if this is going to work for; im trying now with just a slimmed down localnow m3u. Below is a few hand picked channels from the localnow m3u. For news12, i added the "Emby Guide Data USA-NY62481-L" source, and found what i was looking for immediately. but its been rough afterthat. Boston25 - After way too much effort i found "Emby Guide Data USA-DITV506-X". and found the channel in there. I've not had any luck getting epg for PBS Nature, and XFC MMA. I have to put in country + zip code to see the list of sources. I'm not sure these two channels belong to a particular area; so i dont even know where to begin. Is this a known issue that everyone has when using localnow?. I'm sure its likely what everyone finds first when looking for free iptv feeds. #EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="LocalNow_News12NewYork" tvg-logo="https://f9q4g5j6.ssl.hwcdn.net/5f9c57ad92cd1774a1091752" group-title="LocalNow: Local",News 12 New York https://livestream.chdrstatic.com/2272f9cc29d3f9e812a3b4cacbd767bf69c95a59434c3f482606a67962a0dd5e/localnow/n12nyLocalNow/news12newyork/primary/index.m3u8 #EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="LocalNow_XFCMMA" tvg-logo="https://f9q4g5j6.ssl.hwcdn.net/61f0ac790a2a2f19256357f2" group-title="LocalNow: Sports",XFC MMA https://b81ea6a237a99f732a8a56c17e6e1733.7wzuvg.channel-assembly.mediatailor.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/v1/channel/XFC_TV/index-xfctv.m3u8 #EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="LocalNow_PBSNature" tvg-logo="https://f9q4g5j6.ssl.hwcdn.net/63c83e11e4c5d7c1350ffde7" group-title="LocalNow: Explore",PBS Nature https://amg01597-wnetnewyorkpubl-pbsnature-localnow-4gv0j.amagi.tv/playlist.m3u8 #EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="LocalNow_WFXT(FOX)News25BostonMA" tvg-logo="https://f9q4g5j6.ssl.hwcdn.net/640247fc9cf570b63e0ddad2" group-title="LocalNow: Local",WFXT (FOX) News 25 Boston MA https://amg00327-coxmediagroup-wfxtbreaking-ono-n5e03.amagi.tv/playlist.m3u8
Luke 42079 Posted July 29, 2024 Posted July 29, 2024 Hi, the main reason is that our guide data provider is built for cable/mainstream tv. To find data for one-off channels it may take a bit of work hunting around for a lineup that has each channel.
