picture shuffle ends

i have an ipad which i have converted into a digital frame. i run emby ios client on it and the device only has access to one folder of pictures from a windows server. i put it into shuffle mode and it has worked without issue for years. recently i have noticed that the shuffle play will end and drops me back to the login screen. are there logs that i can look at to see why this is happening or how can i troubleshoot this?
