csadoian 36 Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 I am having problems with my Emby Live TV guide not having current information on a few OTA stations in my area. It has particularly been affecting my local ABC affiliate (KFSN) and has caused me to miss several recordings. This started happening a few weeks ago, and I thought it was just a fluke, possibly related to some sports programs going overtime. However, it seem to be pretty consistently lately, and in my opinion it should not be happening. You can see by the attached screen shot that my local ABC affiliate listed as channel 1301 has a big fat "To be Announced" in the slot beginning at 5pm and lasting until 8pm (not shown on the screenshot). I have checked other guides around the internet and they show programming there. In addition, KFSN's own web site (abc30.com) has a guide and it also lists programming there. Something seems to be wrong with your provider. The OTA source I am using is USA-OTA93618. This is in the Fresno, CA area. To work around this problem today I added the Xfinity (cable) guide data to my sources and then assigned my local KFSN station to it's guide. When I use the listings from Xfinity and not OTA I don't get the "To be Announced" problem. I would appreciate it if you could pass this information to your guide provider and see if they can fix the issue. Thanks.

I figured you might think that since when I needed the screen shot this coming Saturday is where I found the next instance of missing guide data. However, it never catches up. For example, it happened in the exact time period today (Sunday), so I missed recording the National ABC News and my local news, since they are scheduled to record at 5:30p and 6:00pm respectively. By the time I sat down to compose my post the time had already passed and I couldn't get a screen shot. The "To be Announced" appears to be a placeholder of sorts. I don't know if that is coming from the guide or if Emby is seeing no guide data during that time period and substitutes "To be Announced" in the guide listing. In any case, just to be clear this happens on the day of the listing, not just a week in advance. Also, when using the Xfinity as the source the listing data is there, not "To be announced". If Xfinity can get it, your provider should be able to as well.

csadoian 36 Posted July 22, 2024 Author Posted July 22, 2024 When it first started happening I refreshed it manually a couple of times, but it made no difference in the guide data. I think I refreshed it twice today before I did the screenshot. Otherwise Emby does it automatically. By the way, I run two separate Emby servers and both have the same problem with the OTA guide data.
