emby appears to be rewriting the 3rd party providers' m3u8 streams

Emby appears to be rwriting the 3rd party providers' m3u8 streams and hosting the .m3u8 and live.m3u8 off my server which is causing a lot of buffering.

 

I'm using emby server (premier) on ubuntu is there anyway to just serve the playlist off the providers domain rather than rewriting it locally?

Hi, yes everything runs through your Emby Server. This is for the live stream seek buffer as well as having the ability to share streams across simultaneous usages.

Ok, that's fine. I'm trying to use the api to generate a url for a live tv stream, can you provide the necessary api calls I need to make?

 

So far I've been able to get a channel id, but not sure what to do after that to get a playable url for vlc.
