bolderbast 12 Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 (edited) Hi! I have serveral libraries containing movies/tvshows. Many movies/episodes were added with H264 codec. Now, I am replacing these files with H265/HEVC codec. Emby picks up the change (codec info in the web interface is reflected correctly). However, the NFO file stored with the media, is not updated with this change. It still shows the H264 codec. I tried: Scan library files Refresh Metadata The NFO is only updated when I manually change metadata (like description). But, I will be replacing hundreds/thousands of files, so manually updating the metadata for each item is not really an option. Any way to make Emby automatically update the NFO files for items where the codec has changed? Running Emby 4.8.7.0 on Arch Linux. Thanks! Edited July 18, 2024 by bolderbast
bolderbast 12 Posted July 18, 2024 Author Posted July 18, 2024 OK, hang on. Seems that for some reason, this option was disabled on some libraries: The manual change only worked after (re-)enabling this option. Seems that after enbling this option, "Refresh Metadata" seems to update the NFO's which were previously not updated. Will now test if the NFO now also gets automatically updated when a file is replaced.
bolderbast 12 Posted July 18, 2024 Author Posted July 18, 2024 (edited) Yeah, it automatically updates now. Apologies for the stupid question. Hopefully it helps someone. Edited July 18, 2024 by bolderbast
