ROKU not showing subtitles

I have a remote user using a roku stick 4k. With subtitles on..

 

however when he watches a movie that has subtitles, the subtitles do not showup..

 

 

Even though the subtitles are ON..

I have had him remove emby and reinstall; still no subtitles. They have another roku with emby and using same account. it shows the subtitles.. The ONLY thing I can think of is maybe the TV itself which is a samsung 4k

Well i got the issue resolved. what it was.. had him change the playback resolution from AUTO to 2160P 4K - 110Mbps

and not only is he NOT transcoding but the subtitles started to work..

LOL yes Roku Auto.  But there have been a lot of issues around transcoding and subtitles lately.
