Subtitles not showing, tested on multiple platforms

Hi,

 

I'm testing the subtitle using the same episode on multiple platforms and found that the subtitle is not showing on some apps. Tested with Emby Server 4.8.8.0 and 4.9.0.26-beta I can see "CC" and select the subtitle language but after selecting any language there is no subtitle.

Here here is the info I have so far:

Samsung TV ( Tizen ) - Working

Web app - Working

Fire TV (Android) - Working

Android (Samsung phones: S22 ultra, S23 Ultra, S24) - Not Working

Android web app (Samsung Internet, Chrome) - Working

LG TV (WebOS) - Not Working.

Please let me know if you need more info in order to fix this issue.

Please provide a specific example.  What the same file tested in all the clients?

What type of subtitles?

Was there a ffmpeg log?

If you have the 4.8.8.0 logs can you post them also.

Was the playback method the same in every client?

Since it works in some and not others may need client versions that are failing.

Hi, this is a whole folder full of log files. Which one is from the timeframe that you experienced the problem with LG? Which one for android? Thanks.
