jprobins007 24 Posted July 11, 2024 Posted July 11, 2024 I am having an issue in regard to the title screens on audiobook files. On the vast majority of my audiobook files (mostly m4b's), when I click on the picture, it no longer opens a title screen. Instead, it begins playing the file. However, on a handful of audiobook files (also m4b's and all in the same folder), it does open the title page. As to the first group, I can reach the title page by letting it start to play, going to settings, hitting go to album, and choosing it from the album view. I have been unable to find any distinguishing characteristic between the two groups of files or the folders they are sorted into. I must admit I am also at see as to how to give you an example of the problem. I have attached a log covering the period of trying to open the title screens. I have not had this issue with video files at all. Both types of audiobook files are within the same audio books library. 07-11-24 embyserver.txt
Luke 42077 Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 Hi, can you please show screenshot examples of what you're clicking on? I think that will be the best way to explain the behavior. Thanks !
jprobins007 24 Posted July 12, 2024 Author Posted July 12, 2024 Here are 1 shot of an example of the group that does open the title page when clicked, I shot of the title page the results. Then, 1 shot of an example that does not show the title page when clicked, but just starts playing, and 1 shot after clicking the 2nd group. The red X shows where I am clicking. Note, I have exactly the same problem when using the Samsung app or the Google TV stick app.
Luke 42077 Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 Quote Then, 1 shot of an example that does not show the title page when clicked, but just starts playing, and 1 shot after clicking the 2nd group. How did you get to this screen? Maybe you clicked the play button right in the center of it?
jprobins007 24 Posted July 14, 2024 Author Posted July 14, 2024 No. I specifically did not. I clicked in the corner where the x is on both. One goes to the title screen and one just starts playing. I have the exact same issue when using the Samsung TV app and the Google TV stick app.
Luke 42077 Posted July 16, 2024 Posted July 16, 2024 In your first screenshot, how did you get to that screen?
jprobins007 24 Posted July 23, 2024 Author Posted July 23, 2024 Starting from the Emby home screen, I choose an Audiobooks library named "Audio Drama". On the Audio Drama home screen in folder view, I choose the folder "Doctor Who". On the Doctor Who screen, I choose the subfolder "Bernice Summerfield Audiobooks". This pulls up the first screen above. Obviously, the process is identical on Samsung Tv and Chromecast (which is where I would usually be accessing Emby)..
Luke 42077 Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 How do things compare with our hosted web app? http://app.emby.media
jprobins007 24 Posted July 24, 2024 Author Posted July 24, 2024 I seem to be unable to access the server via the web app.
jprobins007 24 Posted July 24, 2024 Author Posted July 24, 2024 I have exactly the same result using the web app. It goes straight to play instead of the title screen.
Luke 42077 Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 Maybe you're clicking on an individual track and not an album? It's normal that when you click on a track, that it will just start playing.
jprobins007 24 Posted July 26, 2024 Author Posted July 26, 2024 Yes. These are individual M4B audio files. Tracks and albums are not really relevant to audiobooks or audio dramas. Clicking on them used to open the title pages. Often I just want to read the synopsis. This is now a big hassle to get to. How do I set it so that it defaults to the title screen instead of just playing?
Luke 42077 Posted July 27, 2024 Posted July 27, 2024 Have you tried clicking the 3 dot menu and then the info icon?
jprobins007 24 Posted July 31, 2024 Author Posted July 31, 2024 That does work on the web interface. However, I never actually view Emby media via the web interface. I cannot find an analogue to the 3 dots and the i icon on either the Samsung TV or the Chromecast interfaces.
Luke 42077 Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 It’s the same idea on all platforms. What we need to do is support the long press context menu so that you can access it from there.
jprobins007 24 Posted August 7, 2024 Author Posted August 7, 2024 That would be much appreciated if it could be done. 1
