sa2000 674 Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 @pdeliotThank you for sending the database copies and livetv xmltv file and other diagnostics. I am continuing to look into these diagnostics. Don't know if this is a factor - recordings go into show / season folders whereas existing structure is flat below the show. I will continue to look and see if i can reproduce it
sa2000 674 Posted August 19, 2024 Posted August 19, 2024 @pdeliot I have managed to reproduce the issue using the xmltv schedule for HPI and same language / metadata options as your server. i also used a test library with multiple media folders paths as you have for the Series library The xmltv schedule looks fine to me - in that it gives the series name and season and episode numbers. These are the main elements of the xmltv schedule entry for HPI S01 E06 which correctly name the series as HPI and episode number <title>HPI</title> <sub-title>Hep et Soja</sub-title> <date>2021</date> <category lang="fr">série policière</category> <episode-num system="xmltv_ns">0.5.</episode-num> I believe this is correct syntax for S01E06 <episode-num system="xmltv_ns">0.5.</episode-num> My next step will be to see if I can narrow down the problem and see if it also arise on the normal Emby Guide for OTA or just xmltv related.
pdeliot 10 Posted August 19, 2024 Author Posted August 19, 2024 (edited) This was functional in the past... I believe it stopped working starting 4.8. Maybe a change in the way episodes were identified. In the recording planning section, the episode numbers seems properly identified. Here an example with "FBI" because HPI has no more broadcast at the moment. Edited August 19, 2024 by pdeliot

For the HPI repro, i am using a cutback xmltv file with just channel C192.api.telerama.fr and one airing only - the S1E6 airing. I just change the start and endtime to do my tests. I have one DVR channel mapped to this channel I would like to establish if the issue is confined to xmltv - so with the FBI airings on channel W9, I will set that on another DVR channel mapping to the W9 channel on OTA Emby Guide lineup and see if same outcome

Just realized there is no Emby guide for France. I have tried with a UK channel for FBI Most Wanted airing and the episode that I put in the library does not show in the schedule or Live TV Series screen for FBI Most Wanted. I will refer the diagnostics I captured on my xmltv test to the development team 1
pdeliot 10 Posted September 6, 2024 Author Posted September 6, 2024 Hi, Do you have a feedback? Maybe a good news from the dev. team
sa2000 674 Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 @pdeliot No feedback yet from development. I have established that if I place the existing library shows in the TV Shows recordings library then the issue does not arise
pdeliot 10 Posted October 7, 2024 Author Posted October 7, 2024 Hi, I saw "Fixes related to matching recordings with episode files already in the library" in 4.8.9.0, but no change in the behavior. Any view on a potential fix?

My guess is that the fix that went out was for the following which is different from the issue on xmltv that you reported 1
pdeliot 10 Posted October 9, 2024 Author Posted October 9, 2024 Ok.. then waiting for a potential fix to "my" issue.

Hi There will be some changes coming in Emby Server beta 4.9.0.34 that I hope will resolve this. I will specifically test out the case for HPI S1 E6 that I managed to repro the problem with - once 4.9.0.34 is available 1
sa2000 674 Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 @pdeliotMy test for the HPI recording was successful on 4.9.0.34 - but the library had to be using French metadata - as per the xmltv guide
sa2000 674 Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 Just to clarify that it would also work with different language options if the xmltv schedules included the external provider id’s eg tvdb etc and there was at least one matching id for the guide airing entry and the library

pdeliot 10 Posted February 23, 2025 Author Posted February 23, 2025 (edited) Hi, I've installed the beta and the result give me a mixed felling. It seems working for some series, but not for others. For example, a series called CASSANDRE... still recorded old episodes existing in the library. Same name, same external ids.. Once recoder, Emby was able to find properly the "watched" status. For example, after recodring, in "Recordings" library: We can seed the just recorded episode marked as read.. and it is true, see from the over library were it exists. You will find an XMLTV containing next planned broadcast for CASSANDRE. Anothert exemple: "Meurtres en eaux troubles" If I can provide more details to help solving this behavior, feel free to ask... telerama (3).zip Edited February 23, 2025 by pdeliot
Luke 42077 Posted February 23, 2025 Posted February 23, 2025 HI, do you have two of the same series in the library?
pdeliot 10 Posted February 24, 2025 Author Posted February 24, 2025 Hi Luke, Not sure to understand your question, but series exists in Both "Recording" and another library. And they are configured to avoid recording if existing in all libraries. Duplicate recording are (or may) not exists in "Recordings"

The whole folder structure for each of thes series and file / folder exact names Edited February 24, 2025 by sa2000
