Yes, it said 5.1.x was the highest current version. I've gone ahead and downgraded back to 4.x while I do more research.

I was able to get hardware transcoding working before I reverted back. But anytime it need OpenCL it would failback to software.

And that's still on 4.8.8 or did you jump up to the 4.9 beta?

With there being two different installers is it possible to just update OS?  @Luke

Don't know these platforms but will guess a new install per OS version.

Not always, but the recent TOS updates have required it.

Any solution for this? I'm still using TOS 5.1.67 and emby server 4.8.8.0 and the problem persists.

Sadly I just reverted back to TOS 4.2.44.

Are you able to try the 4.9 beta server and see how things compare?

No problems with hardware encoding on an F4-423 running TOS 5.1.131.  Haven't upgraded to 5.1.67 as it didn't address any issues I'm having.  One thing comes to mind and that is to make sure the account that runs emby has access to /dev/dri/renderD128.  Maybe that was something that changed with the OS update.  In my case I made sure that the emby user account is a member of the video group.

The issue I had was I factory reset it a few time with with 5.1.x and there would be cycles where /dev/dri/* just wouldn't be in the file system.
The time it was, Emby could see the card for transcoding but anything that required OpenCL would fail back to software.

Not doing anything with OpenCL so I can't provide any insight.

OpenCL is used for tone mapping HDR content to SDR.
