audiom3 11 Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 I installed emby on my TrueNAS Core sometime around mid-day Sunday. Install went incredibly smooth and I was scanning libraries (movies, tv shows and short films) in literally a few minutes. It took a while to finish, then I began fixing incorrect matches and artwork. All in, about 14 hours of work. Somehow last night, emby lost my library of 1570 movies and over 100 tv shows. I have searched and searched for answers but to no avail. I am sure it must be a directory issue but how and why did this change overnight when I wasn't even using emby? Also, how do I get my media back? My homepage shows the icons but when I click either one, they are empty...or emby points me to empty folders. Here are a few screen shots as well as my server logs. Thank you for any help. embyserver.txt
Happy2Play 9780 Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Probably need to see a log before this one as this 30 minute log doesn't show anything. Are your media drives accessible? But a guess is drives go offline and Emby does schedule task scans and sees the media missing and removes.

Yes, I have Roon, Plex, Zidoo and JRiver connected to my array and can read from it without issue.
audiom3 11 Posted July 9, 2024 Author Posted July 9, 2024 (edited) Here is a log from after I went to bed and then the first one after I logged...or tried to log onto emby early this morning. Hope these help! embyserver-63856095029.txt embyserver-63856080000.txt Edited July 9, 2024 by audiom3
Solution Happy2Play 9780 Posted July 9, 2024 Solution Posted July 9, 2024 The log 63856095029 is filled with MediaBrowser.Common.Extensions.DirectoryUnavailableException: Path Not Found errors for your smb paths. Probably need to go over how you setup your library folders also as this suggest a way that can not be done. audiom3 11 Posted July 9, 2024 Author Posted July 9, 2024 In reading a completely unrelated thread, I think I have a clue on where to start. I suspected this could be an issue as well. I link to my media via smb. Why? It works for everything else in my network and I am not a linux guy. But supposedly emby doesn't have smb support yet? Is that true? It would be very strange that it worked fine for 36+ hours. I'll try doing a direct path input tonight after work. God, I hope I don't have to re-do my entire movie collection.
audiom3 11 Posted July 9, 2024 Author Posted July 9, 2024 Thank you, @Happy2Play. It seems as I suspected above. Will media info/posters/art be saved within the server if I can get them all to reappear via a direct path to my array?

It does but the devs will have to explain the technical side but devs recommend mounting the libraries instead. But per the log it would suggest library path conflict with one library with a path that is covered in another library. Creating folder in database 192.168.50.20 - smb://192.168.50.20 2024-07-08 18:23:12.150 Info App: Rebasing 4 smb://192.168.50.20/Media/Movies to be underneath 62686 smb://192.168.50.20 2024-07-08 18:23:12.150 Info App: Rebasing 8 smb://192.168.50.20/Media/Short Films to be underneath 62686 smb://192.168.50.20 2024-07-08 18:23:12.151 Info App: Rebasing 6 smb://192.168.50.20/Media/TV Shows to be underneath 62686 smb://192.168.50.20 So the database kill all child libraries. 5 minutes ago, audiom3 said: Will media info/posters/art be saved within the server if I can get them all to reappear via a direct path to my array? If not saved with media no as it is linked to db items if not and the db has been purged.
audiom3 11 Posted July 9, 2024 Author Posted July 9, 2024 @Happy2Playthank you for taking the time to help me with this problem. I have entered the direct path and my collection is rebuilding now. 1
