Natilus13 14 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 So today my Slack notifications, which I have set up to post when new media is added, suddenly started going bonkers and posting notifications about old media. Some of the files it posted as "new" had actually been on the server for years. Slack actually had to stop showing all the notifications that the webhook was trying to send as there were just so many. Up until today, the notifications have worked fine. Anyone have any suggestions on where I should be looking to try and determine what is going on? Thanks!

That is just a small sample of the alerts, and it wasn't just for that show... there were many others that were being flagged as "new" by this webhook. If I was in media library though and sorted by most recent... none of these ones that the notification saw as "new" were showing up at the top of the list. I was seeing shows that I HAD actually just added. This just started on July 7th. I have the notifications turned off for now, but would like to get them back again hopefully. Luke 42078 Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 See the odd thing is that Emby Server doesn't store these notifications and send them later. They get sent out immediately, so it's not even possible for the server to re-send an old notification. Therefore I think one of two things is happening, that could be happening on the slack side, or content changed on your emby server, meaning something was removed and then re-added.

I just took a look at the various shows that were reported, and ALL of them have new nfo files. I am not sure why those would have been changed. For example, I can see that first file in my list above DC's Legends of Tomorrow - S3, Ep1 - Aruba-Con. The file was last modified on Jan 25, 2021 at 11:58 AM. The nfo file for it though, it shows as last modified Yesterday (Jul 7) at 3:19 AM. I do not have any additional tools outside of Emby that create these nfo files... so I am puzzled as to why they would suddenly have been changed. It also seems very random as to which shows had their nfo files updated. They are all on the same file share... but there are also many other shows on that same share that did not have the nfo files updated. Any thoughts or suggestions or where to look next?
Luke 42078 Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 So the notification is just reacting to what happened. Do you not know what’s happening on your server machine? The Emby server log might tell us a little bit, although obviously not anything that might have happened outside of Emby.

I've gone through and sanitized it. Please see the instructions in the Slack notification setup to learn how to enable this. Please try it out and report your experience. Thanks ! 1

I've given my app all the required OAuth scopes... it posts to Slack, but the only that that has changed is that the font it uses now is smaller and grey, instead of the default black and larger size. No images are showing.

I use the Slack plugin with Rocket.Chat, it's always worked properly with a webhook setup. Looks like the OAuth key specifically only works with Slack now, where it used to work with anything: https://imgeasy.com/share/ak5/2b42b9b767c865af549da.png Edit: I removed that old config under slack and created a new webhook instead from the option given and it also arrives blank. I am not seeing any button for images. This may explain why I am not getting images
