Coverart Plugin - Style Inconsistency

I always wondered since day 1 why there is a inconsistency with the Collection options in the plugin. e.g. no MetroCase side Disk option for collections @ebr, since e.g. my whole library has the MetroCase images but just the Collections stand out with DiamondDisk style.

Case -> yes
ClearCase -> yes
SideCase -> yes
MetroCase -> no equivalent with disks on the right, just with small not themed CDs on the cover
ThickCase -> no equivalent with disks, neither on the front, nor on the side
SpineCase -> no equivalent with disks, neither on the front, nor on the side
Plain -> no equivalent with disks

Is this something that can be addressed in the future? I tried to workaround it in the cache folder multiple times in the past, but updates break the changes most of the time.

Thanks!

Possibly but that particular treatment doesn’t work well in many displays because the aspect is so radically different. That’s why we created the one with the discs on the cover.

Eric, would it possible to have the real disc.pngs on the cover instead of the generic silver ones? This would be nice.

I'm afraid at that size and against an unknown background, that wouldn't look very good or even be recognizable...

Okay then back to the initial request. It would be consistent to offer the other styles also with sidediscs and let the user decide. Perhaps put a disclaimer, that not all styles look good in avery app. Done.

Then dismiss the disclaimer. There are some already existing overlays that do not look nice in some rare views like the search even at present. If I were @ebrI would give sh*t on possible bad looks since on most views all cover overlay templates look really nice.

And to be honest, there would be no size difference between the existing Default Disc view and e.g. a possible MetroCase Side Disc Option.

I really like the idea of getting the XxxxxCDs version with the matching graphics.

I only use CoverArt for my box sets. I have currently set DiamondDiscs because I like them best in the current selection.
Unfortunately, these are smaller than the normal covers, which is why I don't really like the overall look in the film overview.

That's why I really like the idea of using the disc art here on the DiamondCDs variant. Ultimately, the user could decide whether they like the generic silver ones better or the disc arts.

Incidentally, I have the problem that the silver dics are not displayed for some reason, which is why the cover looks like the simple Diamond variant even with the DiamondCDs setting.

In general, it would also be great if we could get a PlainDiscs and PlainCDs variant, as the Diamond variant also creates an unsightly double border with the card box.

I like the plugin very much and I would really like to see it improved with more customisation options.

Any news or decision on that @ebr?

Sorry, we don't have any current plans to create more of those styles.  Perhaps in the future but, again, they are problematic in many of the apps.
