GuyBee 2 Posted July 6, 2024 Posted July 6, 2024 (edited) I've been using Emby for a while now, and its been going great. I even had remote https enabled (and https enforced for remote connections) and have been using it for about 6 months now with no issue. I woke up today and its not working. Things I've done: Restart Emby Upgrade Emby to latest (4.9.xx to 4.9.26) Redownload cert with different password and try that Reenable / disable remote connections section Restart PC Nothing seems to be working.. however now I can connect remotely via http.. which is not at all what i want. Secure connection mode is 'required for all remote connections'. Port forwarding has always been there etc. I can connect to another remotely available app via https.. They were using the same cert but i updated the emby one a week ago... old one expires in a day or 2. Any input would be greatly appreciated, please and thanks Very confused at the moment Edited July 7, 2024 by GuyBee forgot my manners and grammar.
Happy2Play 9781 Posted July 7, 2024 Posted July 7, 2024 Probably need to see a server log after startup, rollover log will not have the information.
GuyBee 2 Posted July 7, 2024 Author Posted July 7, 2024 Do I just restart and get the latest log to attach here?
GuyBee 2 Posted July 7, 2024 Author Posted July 7, 2024 Also I just updated other app to use the same cert.. though this is cert and private key files.. and that's stopped working too. Issue with the certificate? All I did was renew the existing one

Solution GuyBee 2 Posted July 7, 2024 Author Solution Posted July 7, 2024 Ok so I looked in the logs and saw that it was a password issue.. Fixed that. Could that have been the issue all along? The weird thing is, I didn't update the password when the issue occurred. Very confusing. 1

GuyBee 2 Posted July 7, 2024 Author Posted July 7, 2024 Just wasn't loading via browser - like it didn't exist. Should I be able to access the remote url on http port via lan? If i do it on external network, it redirects me to https, but if i do it on lan it just goes to the http url with the standard "site is insecure".

GuyBee 2 Posted July 7, 2024 Author Posted July 7, 2024 I assume a 404.. it just wasn't loading then going to browser's default page when the URL doesn't resolve? Go to http://test.com/ and that's the equivalent of the experience I was having.
Luke 42080 Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 OK we really would need to know exact specifics, but I'm glad to hear that it's resolved now. Let us know if it comes up again. Thanks.
