CharleyVarrick 283 Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 I noticed lately that artists in my Music Videos library are ignored and some videos and even artists are displayed as some movie. My MV collection is about 1.8k strong, and close to 500 contributing artists. This library, along with all others, were all removed from Emby, and added back a month ago. All my videos are in a unique folder, and file name is for ex: "Eagles - Desperado (1994).mp4" Speaking of which, here's how Emby showcases this one. Also, what I mean by Artist are either ignored, or displayed as a movie with Genres attached. Help
Luke 42080 Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 Quote Also, what I mean by Artist are either ignored, or displayed as a movie with Genres attached. This is not a movie with genres attached. This is an artist. What makes you think this is a movie with genres attached?

Luke 42080 Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 The artist is probably linked to the above music video that has been given movie metadata. As to why it has movie metadata - you probably had MovieDb metadata enabled for it at the time it was imported into the library.

You are right, I did enabled moviedb, which I realize is not the greatest idea. I question why its even offered if its gonna assign movie genres to an artist. I have disabled the moviedb and refresh all MD, but it didnt fix anything

CharleyVarrick 283 Posted July 5, 2024 Author Posted July 5, 2024 Just now, Luke said: Try using the Identify feature on the video. Did you mean Remove identification feature ? If so, yes it does remove the movie references. Is there a way to do this library wide, or is this one media at a time ?

Have you explored the multi-select tool? 1

Have you explored the multi-select tool? Good idea ! Is there a Select All choice somewhere or do I need to punch the select circle one at a time? Multi choice menu does not offer identify, but fortunately does offer to remove ID. EDIT: No select all I could find but selecting first, holding shift and select last will select all. CharleyVarrick 283 Posted July 5, 2024 Author Posted July 5, 2024 (edited) Movies reference are now mostly purged (thank you). Now my 2nd main concern, why are artists "ignored". All my music videos have proper artist in MD, and if I click on any artist link, it brings me to a list of all MV by them. But I was expecting also an artist pic, a short bio, etc, instead they all look sad like this: I have tried Identify feature but it does not finds anything. Edited July 5, 2024 by CharleyVarrick
CharleyVarrick 283 Posted July 5, 2024 Author Posted July 5, 2024 I discovered I had Collections in my MV's but they are just a few odd movies collections, not containing anything that remotely looks like a music video, but just the movies that belong to collection. Right of Collections tab is is Genres, and again, I win the lottery with all those Music Videos Movie genre.
CharleyVarrick 283 Posted July 5, 2024 Author Posted July 5, 2024 For those last 2 glitches, I considered for a moment selecting all and remove ID. But what if instead of doing that only WITHIN the confine of music videos library, it actually wipes those movie collection and genres from movie library ???

Hi, have you tried refreshing the metadata on that artist?

CharleyVarrick 283 Posted July 11, 2024 Author Posted July 11, 2024 I did manage to get rid of movie collection an movie genres within MV. 1
