Luke 42077 Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Hi there, what exactly happens when you try? How to Report a Problem
user84 46 Posted July 1, 2024 Author Posted July 1, 2024 The app attempts to cast, but nothing happens at the Roku TV. This has been the case on multiple devices and with multiple Rokus.
Luke 42077 Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Is it over the local network, and is the Emby app running on the Roku and in the foreground?

Device #1 - Casting "From" device - Samsung Tablet - Emby is running and I attempt to cast Device #2 - Casting "To" Device - Roku TV - Emby App is in foreground on Roku TV They are both connected to my LAN (I previously repeated the same problem using a Lenovo laptop and Samsung TV. Also both on the same LAN)
Luke 42077 Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 OK please attach the emby server log from when the problem occurred: How to Report a Problem Thanks.

pwhodges 2012 Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 Of course; but many, many problems are down to specific combinations of different hardware. The devs can't have all possible hardware, let alone test with every possible combination. The logs show what hardware was in use, and how Emby reacted to each hardware item. This makes it possible in many cases to diagnose issues which don't occur in other systems, including the devs'. Paul

speechles 2055 Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 @Blam84Are there multiple entries for the same Roku devices in your devices tab? Delete all the Roku devices which have the older app versions. You might need to do the same with the Samsung app and delete duplicated devices entries. Once you do this it should pass into the Roku correctly. I've had this happen before. I deleted the duplicated entries with old versions and restarted Emby server. Afterwards it worked again.

This was a GREAT and directly actionable suggestion. Unfortunately, it wasn't my issue. But I very much appreciate giving me a potential solution!
