Mock 9 Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 I try to get my Emby server working with IPTV. everything else is working behind the reverse proxy except streaming IPTV M3U files. my setup is Reverse proxy endpoint: https://emby.domain.com local endpoint: http://emby.domain.com:8096/ (IP X.X.X.X) my revese proxy forward to the emby http port 8096 and SSL offload to 443 for the sub domain. I tried tons of setups using Custom headers but i can't get this working for only the IPTV part. The problem seems to come when using the port 443 instead of the local port of 8096 what i can do i going to inprivate browser, and enter http://emby.thehq.com:8096 or IP:8096. With this URL iptv works fine. but not on my reverse proxy https://emby.thehq.dk other playback as movies tvshows server setup works. i don't know if its an isolated issue with only IPTV or i need to change some headers og config in emby. or if its just the Synology reverse proxy that are limited to not fully understand its a different port than mapped internally The Error i get is No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details. The log file has this line. what it seems is that i tried to use the ip but without the correct port number that should have been 8096 2024-06-30 20:56:18.566 Info Server: http/1.1 Response 404 to 10.0.0.150. Time: 474ms. GET http://emby.domain.cp,/emby/Items/1036185/Images/Primary?maxHeight=279&maxWidth=498&tag=099b5abcb1ec20c0895cb910dc568641&quality=90
Mock 9 Posted June 30, 2024 Author Posted June 30, 2024 I found out, it has only to do when using SSL offloading. i tried in the reverse proxy to use the port 80 as endpoint instead of 443, and here it also works. so its narrowed down to the problem is when using reverse proxy from https://domain:443 to http://localip:8096
Mock 9 Posted June 30, 2024 Author Posted June 30, 2024 i have not tried to redirect an extra reverse proxy from port 443 to port 80. by doing that it looks like it now works also for using https. still don't know if this is the correct way to fix this
Luke 42077 Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 Hi, have you compared your reverse proxy settings to this?
Mock 9 Posted July 1, 2024 Author Posted July 1, 2024 1 hour ago, Luke said: Hi, have you compared your reverse proxy settings to this? Its not really comparable as the Synology only has some limited function of a nginx reverse proxy. It don't h ave the proxy pass option and have tried multiply custom headers. it also might not be the reverse proxy that has the issue. as from emby it shows the hostname with only http and not https, maybe this can redirect wrong in some plugins or features. this is what could explain why its working when redirect 443 to port 80 so both ports will respond.
Luke 42077 Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Right OK I was just mentioning that because most reverse proxies have similar options.
