Mark as played after watching most of the episode marks whole season

After watching most of a TV episode and finishing slightly early (not watching the credits) I tend to mark the episode as played. It is still on the episode screen but pressing the mark as played icon will mark the whole season as played and not just episode.

Hi, I'm guessing you're probably doing this from the series screen, right? The series screen has the name of the next episode to play, so that might make it seem like the episode screen.

Ok, seems that could be it. I think ive gotten confused because I just have several rows of "latest..." for different categories and "continue watching" is way down the list.

It seems counter intuitive because as you say it looks like the episode screen with the name of the episode at the top and the series thumbnails below it.

Considering all the icons except "mark as played" beside the episode title relate only to that episode it seems like a design fault that clicking the tick on the episode would do it to just the season the episode is from (by your logic above all seasons should be marked as played?). 

I am using the Android app on Nvidia shield (universal app not the Android tv app).

This has come up before, particularly with the delete function, so that's why the delete function asks if you are intending to delete the entire series or just the last watched episode. So perhaps we should do the same thing with marking played.

I think it should just mark the episode as played as the information and play button relates to that episode only. The play button doesnt queue up all eps in a series so why should "mark as played" be any different? If the current or next episode is there for convenience then its functions should follow suit and relate only to the episode in my opinion.

The season image already has the three dots with mark as played if you want to check off an entire season.

Right but the series screen is the series screen, and if we did that, there would be no way apply the action to the entire series if you wanted. thus we will have to ask you.

Oh sure, I had misread your original post that there would be a question what the intention is and had it in my head it was a warning with the option to cancel marking the series only.
