Brandon 2 Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 So we had an internet outage yesterday and I had to reset my modem after it was resolved and since then, I haven’t been able to get back into Emby remotely. My port forwarding rules are still in place, my firewall override rules are still in place, I’m not sure what I’m not doing to make this work again.

Brandon 2 Posted June 28, 2024 Author Posted June 28, 2024 Yes I did, and still nothing. It says the url can’t be shown when I try to connect to the remote ip on my phone.

Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 (edited) So now we have to figure out why your port forwarding rules are broke. You mentioned port forwarding rules did you create them or is it depending on Port Mapper/UPNP? Did your host IP change? Edited June 28, 2024 by Happy2Play
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 Also did you restart your router and host machine since you reset your modem?

And my host IP is still the same as well.

Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 Minus your ISP changing something I am not sure as port forwarding is pretty straight forward. Have you deleted and readded the rules? What does a traceroute test show from the link above?

Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 Might need to see a server startup log also. 4 minutes ago, Brandon said: What is a traceroute test? It is the link I provided you but test the route to that DNS server. To show if your ISP is using CGNAT. Test Your External Address

darkassassin07 652 Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 Is the local ip of the server still 192.168.1.11 ? If you didn't set a static ip, that may have changed with a router reboot.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 Probably need to see a server log but are you only using SSL 8920?

So I am able to connect to it now on different devices on my WiFi. But still nothing on the remote ip

(I got the old one from your forwarding rule screenshot)

But port 8920 is for HTTPS assuming you have it setup and 8096 is HTTP.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 28, 2024 Posted June 28, 2024 If needed you can go to Dashboard-Logs and download. Does the dashboard show the same IP you are port forwarding?

I shall remember this if it happens again. Thank you everyone for your assistance this late at night! 1 1
