WillianWRM 0 Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Same error here, no compatible streams but there is other version that is compatible. Emby Version: 4.8.8.0 Playback: Web in Firefox (Windows) Error message: No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details. Other: video transcoding is disabled (audio is enabled) Log: embyserver.txt firefox.txt There are two stream versions for the same media, one HECV and other H264. But if I just hit play them the error occurs and I have to manually select the proper version (H264). Chrome does support HECV so no errors there. Playback options: Media info:
Luke 42077 Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 @WillianWRMit doesn't look like firefox supports it. I would try rechecking the box to allow video transcoding.

But there is other stream that has a supported codec, it would be user-friendly if it auto-switched to the supported one.

I guess the question is Emby knows the browser does not support HEVC and from a multi-version standpoint play the h264 version?

No, but actually I may have spotted an issue relating to ensuring the h264 version is sorted first. So we'll have to get that resolved and backported to 4.8.X. 2
WillianWRM 0 Posted June 27, 2024 Author Posted June 27, 2024 Maybe not just sort but in the case of such exception (codec not supported) try other stream before failing?
Luke 42077 Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 Hi, yes there are improvements that can be made here. Thanks.
