SeekingWisdom 1 Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 My old synology machine died and I bought a new one. I downloaded the following file: emby-server-synology72_4.8.8.0_x86_64.spk Above is a picture of my TV (roku) and you can see the "on now" channels have the channel numbers (like they used to). However, if I select guide: There are no channel numbers below the "name" of the channel like there used to be. Is there a new option where you have to turn them on or have they been removed or is this a bug? Without the channel numbers the guide is now almost useless. For us CBS appears under two different channel numbers and only one of them can be received. if the channel numbers are missing you scroll forever (for example FOX is 59.1) and we don't see it "FOX". In the past we simply knew the channel numbers and would scroll to the one we needed. Would appreciate any input on this. Thanks in advance.
SeekingWisdom 1 Posted June 24, 2024 Author Posted June 24, 2024 TMCsw - thanks for the reply My display looks different but it got me searching and I have screenshots of what I see below and I got the channel numbers to show up. First, to be clear the pictures I am providing are of a TV that is connected to a roku box (not a roku tv - that was not clear in my first post). Above is what I see when I select GUIDE and I put a bit yellow arrow pointing to the green (highlighted on TV) "3 dots". When you click on the 3 dots you see the following: When I first clicked on it the top "Channel Number" did not have a checkmark. I put the checkmark there and the following now shows the 2nd page of the GUIDE. It is important to understand that my first picture (with the big yellow arrow) is what the 1st page of the guide looks like. I don't know what that stuff is (didn't used to be there) and they do not have channel numbers. When I scroll down to see the second page (in the 3rd picture above) you see "Grit" which is like what is on the first page with no channel number and then 4.1 which is the first channel like we used to see. Does anyone know what the stuff on the first page and "Grit" on the second page are and where they come from? Luke You asked about the "web app". I have never used a web app before. When I access emby on my PC i log into the synology server and then start up the emby app. Is this what you are asking about? Otherwise I turn on a tv (connected to a roku box) and start the emby app on the roku box. I logged into the synology server and started up the emby app. This is what I see when I click on guide. So in this view you see numbers on the ones that appear on the 1st page on the roku app and "Grit" (1st on 2nd page) and then the 4.1 CBS. I never used to see the low numbers below 4.1 so I am not sure what they are. I have an HD Homerun which gives me the other channels so it must now be giving me the ones below 4.1 (which didn't appear on the earlier version of emby I ran). Would appreciate any comments you may have.
Luke 42077 Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 Looks like grit is the name of both the channel and the show?
SeekingWisdom 1 Posted June 24, 2024 Author Posted June 24, 2024 I did a google search, "is there a "grit" broadcast channel" this is the response: "Grit is an American free-to-air television network owned by the Scripps Networks subsidiary of the E. W. Scripps Company. The network features classic westerns, both TV series and films." One of the names on the 1st page (1st picture) is "Antenna" which doesn't sound like a broadcast channel but maybe it is? Not all of the channels in the guide play well or at all.
Luke 42077 Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 Well if you look at your android tv screenshot, channel 6.2 has a Grit logo for the channel image, so I think Grit as a channel is a real thing.
