abailes 1 Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 Hi, I cannot log into my Emby Server using my Emby Connect login and the Emby app. I cannot do this on the server itself. I have an Emby Premiere code and this is on the server. The code is associated with my Emby Connect account. I can get into the server if I type in the IP address with port no into Chrome (i.e. http://192.168.68.79:8096). This allows me into the server, but I cannot get to it on the computer it is running on by using the Emby app and my Emby Connect details. It brings me to a screen where it asks me to select a server - I can see my server with the same Internal IP address but it just brings up the 'Unable to Reach {my server}' when I click on it. The same thing happens on other computers and my phone within my local network. On my phone, the app gives the same problem, but I can get to the server by typing in the IP address into Chrome. I have restarted my machine, I have reinstalled Emby (albeit not with deleting all my settings and history, I really don't want to do that if I can avoid it). Any thoughts would be very much appreciated. Many thanks in advance
Luke 42079 Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 Hi, have you linked Emby Connect to your server? Emby Connect
abailes 1 Posted June 22, 2024 Author Posted June 22, 2024 I can't see how I have done it - because it doesn't appear to be attached to any of the users listed, but I have. It has been working fine for years with Emby Connect. If I try to add a new user with my Emby Connect details (or if I change an existing user to my Emby Connect account), it says "The Emby Connect user is already linked to another user on this server". Also - if I sign in with my Emby Connect details through app.emby.media, it shows my server, but it doesn't allow me to connect to it - it gives the 'Unable to reach' error. Thanks
Luke 42079 Posted June 24, 2024 Posted June 24, 2024 HI, can you try clicking add server and connect to the server manually? please see if that helps.
xaras2 3 Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Remove Emby Connect Email from user and save new setting. Add again Emby Connect Email and save again new setting. Confirm Emby connect email for new association. I have had the same problem with 4 users in June 2024, For some reason, Emby Connect accounts lose server address configuration

Association not disappear but some times, from 06/2024, client configuration by Emby Connect not have correct server address and cannot connect, if remove and re-add Emby Connect email from user setting, work again. I have had this issue with 4 users.
xaras2 3 Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 Again some problem about emby connect. Not info about IP server, but if i click on the server it doesn't work, if i refresh the page (F5), it works. Much more difficult with a Firestick connection, need close and restart the emby app after server connection error. I'm usign reverse proxy with 3° level domain ( xxx.xxx.xx ) and i have a nat for http and https connection with ip or 2° lvl domain and 3° lvl domain. How can i config/modify/correct my address information saved into emby connect database? Or where emby connect system take this info? Thanks again
Luke 42079 Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 Hi, Emby Connect uses the data displayed on the front page of your server dashboard. Are the addresses displayed there correct?

Luke 42079 Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 OK so try connecting manually then instead of using Emby Connect. Please see if that helps.

ajbailes 0 Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 (edited) Hi Thanks for all the suggestions here (I'm the original poster right at the top here). For various reasons, I was unable to look at this problem again for a few weeks. I have now solved it (mostly) through changing the settings in the "Advanced Sharing Settings" within the "Network and Sharing Centre" Control Panel of my server. Anybody else who has this problem should check there and make everything accessible. One lingering problem remains. I am unable to use the Emby browser app: accessed through https://app.emby.media/#!/home. This is on any other PC in the network, or even on the server itself. If I click on this, it takes me to the Select Server screen and claims it is unable to access my server. It gives me the IP address alternative (in my case: http://192.168.68.79:8096/web/index.html#!/home). This works fine, but it seems weird and I'd love to unblock it if anybody has any ideas. Other than that, all the apps on my various devices (smart TVs, tablets, phones) all seem to be working. Many thanks Edited August 5, 2024 by ajbailes
Lessaj 467 Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 The emby connect URL you posted is the HTTPS URL, have you set up HTTPS on your system and forwarded the port? Otherwise you need to use the HTTP URL (and forward the HTTP port). 1
ajbailes 0 Posted August 5, 2024 Posted August 5, 2024 Hi - that link always used to work. Which system - my router, or my server? Where am I forwarding the port to? This is all inside my LAN.

If you don't have secure setup, you cannot use https://app.emby.media, you need to use http://app.emby.media, as advised: 30 minutes ago, Lessaj said: Otherwise you need to use the HTTP URL (and forward the HTTP port). Make sure your browser ain't force redirecting to https. Edit: Edited August 5, 2024 by GrimReaper Link
