VirulentPip 93 Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 Got one of these yesterday and set up this morning, not cheap after adding extra storage and 32GB DDR5 5600 around the £900 mark (1x 2TB NVME and 1x 1TB NVME) Expanding from 500GB/2TB (500GB staying in the machine and the 2TB going in Gaming PC) The USP for me was the fact that the Ultra CPU has an ARC as the iGPU, meaning not only am I downsizing from a mid sized tower, I don't lose the ARC GPU. Probably could have gone for the Ultra 5 and saved £150 but thought with Sonarr, Radarr, Backblaze etc running might as well give it all the beans I can lol Need to do some transcoding testing, but can't see it being much different from the A380 ARC Dedi card I have. When it comes to HW ToneMapping what's the best settings to use?
RanmaCanada 494 Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 Tone mapping should never be done, I don't know why people bother. You won't be able to get close to the original picture quality. But if you insist, I believe Hable was the one that was "closest". 1
VirulentPip 93 Posted June 19, 2024 Author Posted June 19, 2024 Oh it was just for science. I have 4K and 1080p libraries. 1
