4.8.8.0 New library files not detected.

Hi latest version has stopped the server detecting new media files after they are transferred. Only a manual scan will allow them to be discovered and added.

Real time monitoring is enabled. I have not changed anything between versions.

Any suggestions I can try to get it to work again?

Thanks I took a look, I can access using the library address with no issue, so confused but at least i can try and fix it now I know.

Not entirely sure as the rollover log shows TV Shows accessible.

So I can only guess the shares are disconnecting or going offline as some point in time.

I just restarted the server and its immediately picked up the new media.

Ill keep an eye on it and see what happens.

Would have to do some searching but could be how the network shares are configured.

If those shares are on the same machine as the server then I would suggest setting up the libraries using the direct file paths instead.

Server on .61 shares on .160.  But might have better luck mounting the shares on the host system.  Unless "path is currently not available" reasoning can be found.  But I know this use to be a common Windows issue not specific to Emby though.

The files are on a qnap and I use a small pc with windows and emby server on this.

I have restarted the server and it picked up a new file??

It has worked like this without issue for a very long time to be fair, thats why its confusing.

When I play something it direct plays.

Its just very odd

Not sure as some point Windows sees the shares are not accessible and RTM stops.  But all schedule or manual scan will continue to work.

Might check Windows event viewer to see if is shows anything in reference to the shares.

Check in Windows Credential Manager to check it has valid credentials for that share and they are persistent - otherwise it will need to re-establish them every time it wants to connect to that share.

I've always used UNC file shares, even on a local machine.  It gives you maximum flexability.   If emby can't see them, then there is an issue with them, I would not just 'get it working' by going back to antiquated drive letters or drive paths that could change at any moment, rending your emby install unusable because a drive changed it's letter ..
