AP123 13 Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 (edited) Hello, I've tried googling but can't find a solid answer. I'm able to remotely connect from my iphone to my ras pi server, but my laptop cannot connect remotely via safari. I'm using my external access url with the :8080 at the end, and it works once, but after the first time I get an SSL error. If I clear my google chrome cache it will work again only the first time but then I keep getting the SSL protocol error. I've never had an issue accessing remotely via my laptop and chrome before. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Please bear with me if I don't know all the technical info to solve this issue but I will do my best to provide any extra info. Edited June 14, 2024 by AP123
Neminem 1518 Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 Try with firefox. Chrome has started to enforce SSL. And by the looks of it all browsers will go that way eventually.

Is there any work around for chrome? Or what would be a work around if all future browsers enforce this? Edited June 14, 2024 by AP123
Neminem 1518 Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 You could setup a reverse proxy + certbot to get a valid ssl certificate. Search the forum for reverse proxy. Be ready for a steep learning curve. But its worth it in the end.

I'll give that a shot. so far it works in safari so isn't mega urgent for me to bypass the chrome issue, but worth knowing in the long run
Neminem 1518 Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 With a reverse proxy, If configured correctly, will also give you better security.
