I have a plethora of music playlists that I didn't create. I selected them all but when I went to delete them it said it was going to delete everything from my hard drive. It is unclear if it is meant the playlists are going to be deleted or if the actual music files are going to be deleted. Please provide clarification!

How do I prevent a bunch of random playlists from being created and how do I actually create a playlist I want to have?

Do you have playlist files in you music library.

And enabled this feature

I do have that box checked but I've not have playlists. Can these be created in the Emby App or do I need to do them separately. How?

Still wondering if deleting the Playlists in Emby will wipe my Music Library or just the weird playlists that came from I don't know where.

You probably do have playlist files and just don’t realize it.

I'm pretty sure I do but not ones I've intentionally created. Can I nuke these in Emby without removing the actual media files?

Yes, or just delete your playlist files.

Should be stored with media.  Search for m3u files with your tracks.

example quickly created in mp3tag

If you go to the 3 dot menu and edit metadata for one of the playlists it will tell you the path, more than likely all of the playlists you're seeing are in the same place.

EDIT: Can also switch the view to Table and turn on Path.

Yes or delete one

But sounds like you don't want the library option to import them.

These are probably your own playlist files in your media folders.

So how do I create a playlist for Emby to read? Can it be done within Emby?

Yes the delete text can be a little decieving but tells you what is being deleted.  As my image showed the specific file in library.  But Emby created playlists will delete from the Userplaylists folder.

What is your objective here?  Userbase control or making a playlist globally accessible to everyone?

But a m3u with paths to media

Spoiler

#EXTM3U
#PLAYLIST:TEST Playlist
#EXTALB:All Eyez on Me
#EXTART:2Pac
#EXTINF:278,Ambitionz az a Ridah
E:\Media\Music - emby metadata\2Pac\All Eyez on Me\CD 1\01 2Pac - Ambitionz Az a Ridah.mp3
#EXTALB:All Eyez on Me
#EXTART:2Pac
#EXTINF:276,All Bout U
E:\Media\Music - emby metadata\2Pac\All Eyez on Me\CD 1\02 2Pac feat. Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg & Dru Down - All Bout U.mp3

Or via the UI multi-select and add to playlist.  As you can only make userbased playlist directly in Emby.
