Install release server over beta?????

I know I will have to wipe out everything on my server to roll back to the release from the beta but I have discovered that I no longer want or need to use the beta as it has bugs that get fixed only on the whims of the developers and I appear no longer emotionally suited to the vagrancies of the beta.

After the release reached its current level I had two servers, one running the release and the other the beta. I had a failure where the server running the release literally blew up. (Flames, smoke and the sides of the case were bulged out.  It was a total loss and everything that was not metal was either burned or melted. )I am real glad I use metal shelving) I tossed that server and decided that I could run the beta until a new release reached maturity.
I seem to have overestimated my tolerance for little errors and I am getting irritated at the little bugs that go unfixed for weeks and I just want my Emby to run solidly and that I am not getting from the beta.

I am torn and do not really know which way I am going to jump BUT I need to prepare for the possible downgrade.

What i need right now is to be assured that if I use the Windows uninstaller and remove all traces is there anything else I need to remove before installing the release server? I remember doing that, for other reasons, a couple of years ago and everything went perfectly. I do not care about users, settings, watched states or any of that as I have the legacy backup/restore to get that back. I also do not use or need remote access at all so anything that effects that or audio is not important to me.

I have little desire to preform such radical surgery but I may have to within the next couple of weeks.

Before I try that I intend to try and resurrect and stabilize an older computer that i have sitting on a shelf but I do not think I can get it stable enough to become my primary server. We'll see.

Thanks for any help.

BTW: I am sorry for any incoherence that appears in this post. It is late in the day and I get tired by this time every day and being tired make me develop problems with concentration. :(

I solved this by using the option to resurrect an older computer, after some trials and tribulations, and I have it running the release just fine.

BTW: I use the beta computer to write all metadata file and images to the folders that contain the media and the "new" computer only reads. Of course there is still a lot for the new computer to do to be a server but much of the largest part of the load, like making bif files, is off loaded to the beta server.

One conflict will be People folder as beta will write for itself but new setup being read only still has to potentially fetch all people so disabling providers should be an issue.

Thanks for that. However i do not use "people" at all for much of anything. Shoot I don't even like most "people."

95%, maybe more, of my Emby usage is only for watching content. But almost everything on my new release server is disabled. I also discovered that prefetching images and caching them locally improves the speed a LOT. However i also discovered that it takes a little time (hours sometimes) for images to get fully prefetched. But that happens in the background so I really need only to exercise patience, that is harder for me than it should be.

I sometime lack patience for seeing improvements after changes.

There are parts of metadata (fetching/reading) that appear to be unique to each server.

I wish there was a way to easily keep two servers in sync and give one priority  for fetching and writing the metadata automagically. But I realize, although I do forget at times, that I am not really all that important and what I am doing and want to do are pretty much unique or at least unusual.

Even 10 years ago i might have written some script or program to accomplish what i want but now i am just content if things usually work OK. :(
