Kyrunner 86 Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 How can you remove the Chapter Thumbnails and recreate them? I want to use Thumbnail images with Intervals of 10 seconds and save the video preview thumbnails into media folders. I have done a complete refresh metadata but the chapter thumbnails are still there and when I run Thumbnails image extraction under the scheduled task nothing happens and I would assume it's because the chapter markers are all already there but I don't know where they are located to delete. For my movies, everything works fine when I run Generate intro video markers it puts a .bif file in the same folder as the movie but I can't get this to work for TV shows.

Minus permissions issue the library option should be honored if there are issues saving with media it will/should default back to /metadata/library/xx/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

The .bif files are located in the emby server metadata library folder I want to resync and have them in my media folder

What I did was use filebot to scan the tv show folders removing everything except the episodes then run file bot and it will create a new folder of the tv show with the episodes. Then re run the thumbnail scheduled task and it will but everything in the media folder next to the episode

I looked at the records stored in Chapters3 in the library. db. Can I directly clear the Chapters3 table? *.bif files already manually delete Edited July 10, 2024 by thsrite

I downloaded library. db from NAS to the local system, and after modifying it, I found that it would generate a .db-wal and .db.shm file. Do I also need to replace these two files, or do I just need to replace library. db Edited July 10, 2024 by thsrite

But if you do have the 3 files and the database is not in use and not open, I would advise replacing all 3. If the Emby Server is shutdown tidily when you copy the files over to the NAS data folder, there would be only the library.db file there and you would be copying 3 files over with the library.db getting replaced and the .db-shm and .db-wal files added to the data folder.

Quote 3ks means 'thanks', usually used by Chinese, because the pronunciation of Chinese '3' plus 'ks' is very similar to 'thanks'

TVTech 7 Posted April 13, 2025 Posted April 13, 2025 How do I prevent Emby from creating chapter markers in the first place? Jellyfin has an option whereby if the video file does not contain chapters, then it won't create chapter markers.
