So each NAS appears as a folder and then the libraries are in paths below. So 1 library is a bunch of folders. DrivePool - linux tool or windows? I only use Linux. Have always been a Windows guy but all the same/similar tools are around for both platforms. 1 minute ago, amazingstories said: Maybe we can collaborate on a limited test on the next beta run. Usually always around.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 16 minutes ago, amazingstories said: Good news everyone. After removing the "merge automatically" ALL of the incorrect merges have successfully separated. The error in the auto-merge seems to be based on the length of the name of the first series. When it matches subsequent "auto-merges," it only considers the text length of the original series. E.g. You can replicate this as follows: 100 days: The first adventure 100 days the first adventure/S01 100 days the first adventure/S02 100 days: The first adventure continues 100 days the first adventure continues/S02 100 days the first adventure continues/S03 100 days: The first adventure explored 100 days the first adventure explored/S04 100 days: The first adventure expanded 100 days: the first adventure expanded/S05 If you have a series "100 days: the first adventure" originally, and then ADD these other folders with auto-merge, you will get "100 days: The first adventure" for all of them. Is this the expected behavior that it will take the shortest name and match them only up to the same number of characters? This set of folders exemplifies the exact scenario that has happened both within the SAME NAS as well as across 2 different NAS drives when collected under one media center. After "unsetting" auto-merge, and rerunning the scan, these folders have separated. This does not exist on any provider, correct? So from a metadata provider standpoint these will be a nightmare and potentially misidentified and merged. But more context is needed as these were not merged and they were not identified.
amazingstories 2 Posted June 9, 2024 Author Posted June 9, 2024 (edited) Actually, that was an example of the text. They were identified on TVDB. 90 days: pillow talk <... rest of the title goes here> When I turned the automerge OFF, all the correct names from the provider showed up. Yes a provider metadata will merge everything misidentified as same item. And the only fix is unmerge identify Show properly and then reenable merge. Always done at show level not season.
amazingstories 2 Posted June 9, 2024 Author Posted June 9, 2024 Where is this feature? "And the only fix is unmerge identify Show properly and then reenable merge. Always done at show level not season." How do I unmerge a single show?

It is not possible as you unmerge the entire library, correct the ones that are wrong but if you have a lot of merged stuff may be difficult to find which ones to correct. Then reenable the library option merge everything again.
amazingstories 2 Posted June 10, 2024 Author Posted June 10, 2024 Answered a different question. Is it possible to unmerge a single folder from a single show/season combination? That was the question. Please feel free to answer that question.

So you have to ungroup all correct the ones with issues then regroup.
amazingstories 2 Posted June 21, 2024 Author Posted June 21, 2024 (edited) Ok - now I have the opposite problem. All my series are separated across drives. Even when they have the same identification using "identify". How do I go about merging manually as instructed? E.g. Show 1 has 3 entries Seasons 1-6, Seasons 7-8 and Seasons 9-10. Thoughts? Edited June 21, 2024 by amazingstories
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 There is no manual grouping for TV. The library option must be enabled and and each show must have proper structure within each folder and Emby must get same providerids for each to automatically merge them from a Series level. So I can only guess structure. But specific real examples are needed.
amazingstories 2 Posted June 21, 2024 Author Posted June 21, 2024 (edited) I've been using this thing for at least 5 years. I only encountered this glitch recently. I have exactly the structure required by Emby. It is correctly FINDING everything and even the IDENTIFICATION is assigned correctly via lookup to the exact same entry. We ALREADY covered this. Remember? So let's dispense with he's a moron and must not be doing anything right. My problem was that emby had merged 2 series that needed to not be merged. I unchecked the "merge" option. I corrected the series names for THAT series again via identify. Now I'm seeing a different series that NEVER had the problem showing up as separate entries in the search. What is the next step? How do I get those series entries across drives go back to a single display in the search? Edited June 21, 2024 by amazingstories
amazingstories 2 Posted June 21, 2024 Author Posted June 21, 2024 (edited) The answer is re-check the library option and it will all go back to the way it was? (Not sure why you coulnd't just say that without all the other stuff). Edited June 21, 2024 by amazingstories
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 21, 2024 Posted June 21, 2024 Just now, amazingstories said: The answer is re-check the library option and it will all go back to the way it was? Yes the library option is the only way for Emby to Merge Series across multiple folders. It is all or none there is no middle ground here and if you require some to be unmerged you will likely need to create a new library and move this content.
amazingstories 2 Posted June 21, 2024 Author Posted June 21, 2024 I'm ok with this. I only needed some unmerged to identify them correctly.
