CatMan7 4 Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 (edited) OS: OpenSUSE Tumbleweed DE: KDE Plasma 6.0.5 Emby Version: BETA v4.9.0.23 TV Set: Sharp TV Aquos LC52LE840x I realise that this issue could very well easily be a bug in this beta version However, i was not able to resolve issues with no video media files showing in the list under the official version 4.8.8.0 or earlier versions LIBRARY FOLDERS FOR IMAGES/PICTURES: Mixed content /home/furryone/Pictures Mixed content /home/furryone/1 - Library/Media - Pictures NOTE: "1 - Library" is a shortcut (softlink) This beta version seems to playback both MP4 video files and AAC audio files cast directly to my TV Set LOGS Provided: ffmpeg-transcode-be286e84-f32c-4d03-a9b7-97018e0cdcfb_1.txt embyserver.txt Edited June 8, 2024 by CatMan7 Typos needed to be corrected !
CatMan7 4 Posted June 9, 2024 Author Posted June 9, 2024 LIBRARY FOLDERS: Mixed content /home/furryone/Pictures Mixed content /home/furryone/1 - Library/Media - Pictures NOTE: "1 - Library" IS a softlink (shortcut) UPDATE AS OF DATE: Monday the 10th of June, 2024 I can successfully 'Cast' any of my pictures / photos / screenshots .jpgs/.pngs that are on my PCs SSD to the Android Emby Server app however, if i switch the cast output to my Aquos TV Set, and click on any of the picture thumbnails on my PC, then emby server will display 'internalservererror' on it Im using Emby Server: Emby BETA v4.9.0.23
Luke 42077 Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Hi, it looks like the Sharp is throwing the internal server error. Have you looked in the Sharp TV's settings? Maybe there's something you need to enable or allow remote control from other devices?
CatMan7 4 Posted June 10, 2024 Author Posted June 10, 2024 (edited) No, you must be wrong there, as i spent over 1 hour using the Android app BubbleuPnP to successfully cast .JPGs and .PNGs to my TV just fine I said it was Emby that was throwing the error - not the TV set Even when the TV set cannot successfully show a picture (say due to an incompatible resolution for example) one still sees the TV set displaying "Remote play" when it recieves a media cast from an external device such as a phone or the Emby server (Videos, Music) In the case trying to cast/send a picture from emby server the TV set never recieves any such information Edited June 10, 2024 by CatMan7
CatMan7 4 Posted June 10, 2024 Author Posted June 10, 2024 Above i edited the Library to point to just 1 folder that has pictures in it I then choose 'Scan Library Files' I then choose 'Refresh metadata'

The TV is throwing the error because it doesn't like something about the request to play that it got from Emby Server. Maybe the server is sending something the Sharp doesn't support. Maybe Sharp DLNA has a defect that we need to work around. It could be any number of things. The fact that you don't see this problem with Bubble simply means that Bubble has already gone through this troubleshooting process with Sharp TV's.
Luke 42077 Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Can you enable both server debug logging and dlna debug logging, then try again and then attach the new log? Maybe we'll learn something there. Thanks.
CatMan7 4 Posted June 11, 2024 Author Posted June 11, 2024 Ok, i will post the log results tomorrow after another try 1
CatMan7 4 Posted June 12, 2024 Author Posted June 12, 2024 I upgraded from Emby BETA v4.9.0.23 to Emby BETA v4.9.0.24 The results are the same as before I even created a new PC user account just to be sure and then re-added a new Library for pictures Enable DLNA debug logging: ON Logs > Settings > Enable debug logging: ON embyserver.txt
CatMan7 4 Posted June 12, 2024 Author Posted June 12, 2024 I upgraded from Emby BETA v4.9.0.23 to Emby BETA v4.9.0.24 The results are the same as before I even created a new PC user account just to be sure and then re-added a new Library for pictures Enable DLNA debug logging: ON Logs > Settings > Enable debug logging: ON UPDATE: I have been able to successfully use the TV set remote control to view all my pictures using Emby The reason i started to use emby was because i only just recently bought this T set within the last 2 weeks, and the Remote control for it is quite faulty Often the enter button does not work, and instead has the same function as Up Arrow I therefore could not enter the home network menu on the TV, and instead came accross emby which solved the issue of playing both and video files directly to the TV without any use of the remote control Emby still sais internalservererror I presume this is an issue with the way that my TV set gets sent a request to push a file (image data) to via DLNA as opposed to a request to pull such a file to it ?

Is that right?
CatMan7 4 Posted June 15, 2024 Author Posted June 15, 2024 Specifically i cant send pictures from emby to the TV set I can send Audio and Video files to it just fine
