gddeluca 2 Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 Hi, odd happening today. My wife (who is visually impaired) was watching videos streaming from my desktop server. She asked "What's this thing on the screen?" I looked, and on the right side of the screen, while the video was still playing, was a Display of all the video characteristics of the video being played. Basically, everything you ever wanted to know about a video. I asked "How did you get here?" And of course, she had no idea. I pressed Back. And then resumed the video. It started OK, but about 10-15 seconds later the display reappeared. Hit Back again, chose another video, but the same thing happened. So I re-booted the Firestick, and all was well. So -- how did she get there? How do you turn it off (without re-booting). George
gddeluca 2 Posted June 7, 2024 Author Posted June 7, 2024 Lovely, I tried that. Works fine. Now - how to get rid of it?
gddeluca 2 Posted June 7, 2024 Author Posted June 7, 2024 OK, I tried that, but it didn't work. But I'm accessing the Firestick via a Harmony remote and an IR adaptor plugged into the Firestick. So all keys don't work 100% correctly like the real Firestick remote. I used the real remote, and it turned off properly. Funny, a long press OK on the Harmony will turn the display on, but a 2nd long press doesn't turn it off. All is well. I'm used to the Harmony and the IR adaptor not being a 100% replacement for the real remote. But for my visually impaired wife it meant she didn't have to learn a new remote. She can't read icons/labels on keys, she does it all from memory, so keeping the Harmony when we got the Firestick was mandatory. I'd prefer to use the real remote, but keeping the wife happy comes first. Thanks for your help. George

gddeluca 2 Posted June 7, 2024 Author Posted June 7, 2024 OK, I'll try that. Don't think I've even seen that option. Thanks.
carbonbaseunit 19 Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 Thats stats for nerds. You can turn it on and off via the video settings
