I don't know when it started, but I noticed yesterday that my local downloaded trailers for movies are now showing in the drop down menu as different movie versions.

I run a 4.7 server (for testing) as well as current version (Version 4.8.8.0)

4.7 Screenshot

Current Server (Version 4.8.8.0)

Folder structure and naming:

Is this a bug or a new intended feature?

I am hoping it's a bug.

That's odd. Have you actually confirmed that that is trailer that's listed there in multi-version dropdown by playing it? What do MediaInfo details at the bottom of the page show for each version selected?

I have abt. 10,000 local trailers (both Movies and TV shows) in respective item \trailers subfolder and I don't see same behavior on 4.8.8.0, it's just as it was previously, single item version with trailer behind Trailer button.

Question 1: Yes, when you select the other version that is unchecked, it plays the trailer for the movie.

Question 2: I can't say for sure right this second. I am doing some trouble shooting here on my end.

I removed the whole library, run a system scan, and now have added it back and running a 2nd scan. Waiting to see what happens.

I let you know if that fixes the issue.

Update:

Removing the library and re-adding and re scanning it has fixed what ever the issue was. Thanks!

Files within \trailers subfolder should be filename-agnostic, but seeing you've named it  2 Guns (2013) - Trailer (with "space-dash-space", which is coincidentally multi-versioning naming convention), maybe it's throwing parser off, try renaming it to 2 Guns (2013)-trailer (no spaces) or anything other than current filename, see what gives.
