tufeixp 1 Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 I have a lot of full width 3d photoes and pictures, and need a emby player to browse them in 1/2 half width full screen and keep the aspect ratio(the fill full screen is also not desired because it will squeeze the content in height). Will you considering add such options in the future release for both emby web player and theater? Appreciated!
Luke 42077 Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 HI there, can you please describe what you mean in more detail? Thanks.
tufeixp 1 Posted June 11, 2024 Author Posted June 11, 2024 (edited) Hi Luke, In 3D community, we have a lot of contents in full width(eg. 1920x2/1080) called FSBS, which can be defined in the metadata which emby already known. In order to play it on a 3d tv in correct aspect ratio, it has to be converted to HSBS on the screen before press the tv remote to switch to 3d mode. Emby can support to scale and fill it to full screen, like a typical player, however, it does not keep the original aspect ratio / 2. What we need is another expanded Fill mode to deal with such 3d contents. Edited June 11, 2024 by tufeixp
Luke 42077 Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 OK, we do support this type of field for videos so I would think it's doable for photos as well.

Even for video, I tried to set the video clip between 3D formats eg. FSBS/HSBS in the metadata managaer defined as here:3D Videos | Emby Documentation, however, the "Fill" method behaves no difference. What is the design purpose for setting the 3D formats? It should have something to do with the Subtitle layout, Fill method, and params passing to 3rd party media players. But none of them work as I expected. Edited June 13, 2024 by tufeixp
Luke 42077 Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 For video it’s just metadata for display purposes. Whether it will play in 3d depends on the capabilities of the video player on the device you’re playing from.

With out such features, emby player is useless for people like me. Thank you! 1
