New to Emby - confusion about XMLTV

Hi guys

Coming over from another platform to Emby (with premiere) today, and I'm thoroughly impressed so far.

Can someone help me work something out though? It's not so much an Emby question at this point, per se.

I am using IPTVBoss and have exported an XML file. However, I wish to host this file that has my channel and EPG data on Dropbox. There is a guide video on how to do that below.

However, I don't think this will work, because I exported my XML from my Windows machine, and I don't want to have to sync from my Windows machine, I want it to sync from my always-on NAS where Emby is stored.

How do I go about this?

not really an emby question let alone xmltv.

but it should be possible. follow your guide to export from iptvboss to one drive and then use whatever one drive client you have on your nas to download the file when it is updated, then point emby at that

Thanks, that makes sense. I will try setting up Dropbox on the NAS and see how I get on.

Wow, think I've done it... now for the Emby questions. I have my M3U on Dropbox, but when I add it as a TV Source in Emby, it doesn't seem to be working. It isn't pulling anything. Is there a guide on how to do this bit specifically?

Hi, try importing it as a file or putting it some other place than dropbox. Someone reported an issue with that recently.

That worked! Now I need to work out how to get Emby to show the categories in the XMLTV file as categories on the guide - which was the entire reason for coming to Emby. Exciting!

Thanks for the help!
