D1sk 4 Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Why does it still show me the season number and episode number as TV name, what did I do wrong with the naming? I have also tried in dme I xx - S01E01 - bbb.exe or xx. S01E01 bbb.exe, xx - bbb S01E01.exe However, it always remains so that it also displays the panel like episode in the title

And there's only "Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus" as potentially related? But regardless, how does it relate to season/episode Extras naming/structure, what this thread is all about?

Luke 42080 Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 @D1skit's because you have no internet metadata for this series. Please try using the Identify feature for this series and see if that helps.
D1sk 4 Posted June 5, 2024 Author Posted June 5, 2024 (edited) @Luke There are videos from Youtube about stories from well-known game studios in the sense that there is no series where you can crawl metadata. How can I solve the problem? That means if it can't find any metadata it always writes the full name including season number and episode number? Edited June 5, 2024 by D1sk

I want to do the following I have the main folder Game Then underfolder with the name of the game studio then in there are stories about game studios, summaries as well as stories about the games that one of the studios has made. E.g. Nintendo Season 1 - there are all videos about the company Season 2 - there are all videos about Zelda Season 3 there are all videos about Metriod The videos are then named according to the pattern S0xExx etc Edited June 5, 2024 by D1sk

If Emby metadata providers do not have the media then you would have to manual add all the images and metadata. As the parse will not attempt to figure out what is title form any given naming scheme when it comes to episodes as there are too many variables and attempt to get from provider by season/episode numbers. 9 hours ago, D1sk said: I want to do the following I have the main folder Game Then underfolder with the name of the game studio then in there are stories about game studios, summaries as well as stories about the games that one of the studios has made. This will be a lot of trial and error as this does not exist and
Happy2Play 9781 Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 Think it would be just as much work but you could ensure the files have embedded titles and enable this option on the library.

D1sk 4 Posted June 10, 2024 Author Posted June 10, 2024 I don't understand if you follow the correct syntax naming provided by Emby why Emby can't remove the season and episode number in the title. It should be possible from a programming point of view to check whether the naming is correct and then remove these values from the patter
Luke 42080 Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 We don’t extract the episode titles from the file names. That only comes from Internet metadata, so when there is none, that’s why you see the full file name.
