squarepeg 6 Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Hi everyone, firstly I just want to say I LOVE Emby, I think it is amazing and I want to thank you for all the wonderful work you do. I have a feature request, I'm not sure how easy it would be to implement but if it's possible, I think it would be great. I found out a while ago that if I tag my music with the lyrics in a music player (such as the amazing Strawberry), I can then see the lyrics when playing through Emby as shown in the screenshots. Is there a way a lyrics editor could be implemented to allow this to be a two-way process. I'm aware there are plugins to download lyrics but I mean one where we could actually type/copy & paste lyrics directly into the tag? Thank you once again and keep up the superb work.
ebr 16177 Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 I'm not gonna say "no" but, to this point, Emby has never modified your media files. So, that would be a complication of doing this. Aren't there solutions for this already out there that are pretty good?

True, Emby doesn't modify them but it can save .nfo files - even that would be a good start. I'm afraid I've yet to find a good solution other than mounting my NAS drive, locating the music file and editing it directly. The solution (if you can call it that), that I am using at the moment, is going through each song on my pc, adding the lyrics and then copying the files over the top of the ones in Emby. The problem with this approach is I have actually copied a corrupted version (didn't save properly) over the top of a healthy one on the NAS.
