Jägs 85 Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Apologies if this has been asked/answered, but I could not find a solution/instructions, so if there is one, kindly point me in the right direction. I have a very large music collection and my current file organization structure is making it difficult to maintain—manual deduplication, etc. That said, I'd like to move from a genre-based structure: e.g., music —> Jazz —> Davis, Miles to a simple alphabetical structure: e.g. music —> D —> Davis, Miles I have number of playlists I'd like to maintain—shameless plug for this playlist feature—so I'm wondering if there is a way on the DB side that I could update the file paths en masse after I move them? As an alternative, if it's just a matter of exporting the playlists, updating the paths in the M3U, then I'm fine letting Emby reindex with the new paths too; this might even be a simpler approach, now that I think about it. Thoughts?
Solution Luke 42080 Posted June 7, 2024 Solution Posted June 7, 2024 HI, playlists already get saved as m3u, so you could just edit the m3u files after making the moves.
Jägs 85 Posted June 7, 2024 Author Posted June 7, 2024 OK, I'll just take that approach as it will be simplest. Thanks! 1
Luke 42080 Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 Make sure to run a library scan after editing the m3u files.
