Give permissions to access Specific folder on ubuntu

Recommended Posts

Hi,

The version of my Ubuntu is 22.04.4

I am a newbie on Linux. I installed the Emby server on my VPS.

I have a cloud storage located on this path "/home/sormick/ExpanDrive/eu-central-1.sftpcloud.io/"

I cannot add this path as a library on Emby server.

Is is related to folder permissions?

If it is related to permissions , do you have a simple tutorial how i can give permissions to this path or folders?

Hi there, what exactly happened when you tried?

Have you taken a look at this?

When i try to acess all folders outside the Root Any folder outsite the root is not accepted by emby.

Sorry Not sure to understand the guide above. Do i need to create or Mount Specific drive to make it work?

Or do i need only to set permission access to folders outside the root folder?

What kind of Linux code will i need to set permissions if needed?
